Beena is the name of my late mother who did not only bring me in to this world with a risk of her own life but also taught me great lessons on kindness, empathy, good will, hopefulness amidst chaos, forgiveness and persistence.
Her simplicity, loyality and sincereity had a deep impact on me. Her kindness for people who had even wronged her enriched me with great life lessons.
We ultimately go away from this world with what is there in our hearts.
A mother’s love is unconditional and irreplaceable.
My simple and humble mother wanted to see how do I consult. In 2005, when I got my first job as a unit doctor in Bangalore, she wanted desperately to witness my case taking. It was prohibited and she went home bit disappointed.
Finally in the year 2013, when I had my own practice I asked one of my patients (who was also an understanding friend) to let her be present in the consultation room.
My mother watched me very carefully with full focus and I still remember her words.
“ Don’t presume but listen, Don’t know it but understand, Don’t perceive but observe and lastly never judge but empathize.”
After her demise in 2021, I had made up my mind to carry on her legacy somehow and the birth of this beautiful name for my practice took place.
